Khune suffers fractured bone

Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune could miss the must-win World Cup qualifier against Senegal after sustaining a fractured bone in his face.

The Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper clashed with Chippa United midfielder Kurt Lentjies in his side’s Telkom Knockout victory on Sunday and was stretchered off, with fans fearing the worst.

The Soweto giants provided another update of Khune’s injury of Monday morning, confirming the injury. Further announcements are expected with the goalkeeper set to see a specialist.

Bafana have two other shot-stoppers in the squad which will do duty against Senegal and can call on Orlando Pirates’ Wayne Sandilands or SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams.
