Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has confirmed that the club have parted ways with head coach Muhsin Ertugral following their elimination from the Nedbank Cup.
The 59-year-old coach was brought in after the club parted ways with Fadlu Davids with the clubs management confident that Ertugral could steer the Team of Choice clear of the drop zone
However, Ertugral leaves the club having not won a single game under his guidance after conceding five defeats in their last five games in all competitions, including four in the Absa Premiership against Golden Arrows, Free State Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United.

And most recently getting knockout of the Nedbank Cup by National First Division side Shakes Mashaba’s Witbank Spurs, who claimed a 5-4 win on penalties following a 2-2 draw at the Puma Stadium on Sunday.

The clubs chairman said released the following statement on the matter, which reads:
‘The coach admitted that he was concerned himself and felt he had done everything as best he could to turn things around, but the results did not come. It was then decided that we both shake hands and, by mutual agreement, go our separate ways.’
‘Normally a new coach brings a new energy into a club and we had high hopes that this will be the case when we appointed Muhsin Ertugral.
‘But unfortunately after 5 games this was not forthcoming. The club had to look at its survival and its future, so it was a ultimately a results based decision’
