CT City part ways with Kobola

Cape Town City confirmed the departure of Vincent Kobola after deciding against retaining the veteran defender services ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

The 33-year-old has been with the club since the Citizens bought Mpumalanga Black Aces’ Absa Premiership status back in 2016.

Kobola opted to part ways with the club after playing second fiddle to Bafana Bafana defender Thamsanqa Mkhize, having been restricted to just six appearances in all competitions during the 2017-18 season.

The former Jomo Cosmos defender now joins the likes of Tshepo Gumede and Robyn Johannes to have left the club, while midfielder Riyaad Norodien joined the club from Orlando Pirates.

During his two-year spell at the club from the Mother City, Kobola has managed to rack up a total of 23 appearances in all competitions while assisting one goal in the process.
