Saffas: Dolly helps Montpelier advance in French Cup

Bafana Bafana winger Keagan Dolly netted a penalty to help his team advance to the next round of the French Cup. MARSHALL GOUTS wraps up the action abroad.

Bongani Zungu:

The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder played no part in his sides 6-0 humbling at the hands of second division side Sochaux in the French Cup.

Keagan Dolly:

The former Sundowns man was awarded a rare opportunity at game-time as he came off the bench in the 67th minute and netted a penalty in the penalty shoot out as they emerged 4-2 victors to advance to the Last-32 of the competition.

Kamohelo Mokotjo:

The Bafana midfielder was handed his 16th start of the campaign in all competitions as Brentford slumped to a 1-0 loss to League Two outfit Notts County – a side who sit 39 places below them.

Luther Singh:

Singh was handed his 16th start of the season for Portuguese outfit Sporting Braga II as they [played to a goalless stalemate with Sporting Lisbon. The result sees Braga remain in 18th spot after 19 games played thus far this season.

Lebo Mothiba:

Mothiba was handed a rare starting berth in Valenciennes’ French Cup encounter against Olympique Marseille. The Ligue II side came agonisingly close to becoming giant-killers as they forced Marseille into extra-time. Mothiba and his team, however, failed in their venture succumbing to a 1-0 loss.
